Government Chemist Conference to take place in June

23 Mar 2018
The biennial Government Chemist conference will take place on 13- 14 June at BMA House and will provide an opportunity for regulators, policy makers, enforcement agencies, manufacturers, scientists and academia to discuss and learn about challenges affecting the security of the food chain.
Food authenticity, safety and sustainability continue to be critical issues for all involved in the food chain, and need to be managed against an ever-evolving regulatory and trading landscape. The 2018 GC conference will focus on these challenges and the ways in which stakeholders are working to ensure food chain resilience.
Topics will include:
  • Global food fraud challenges and mitigation tools available
  • Regulating our future - UK plans to improve food controls
  • European metrology project on methods for antimicrobial resistance
  • Use of marker assisted breeding to improve crop resilience
  • Genetics influencing consumer behaviour
  • Ensuring food authenticity – challenges and solutions

The conference will include an exhibitors' area. Please contact us to discuss options.
