Megan, Scientist: Extractables & Leachables

Megan Megan, Scientist

Tell us a bit about yourself

I've always had a strong interest in science, I enjoy learning how things work and love how science can be used to explain the world around us. As a result I was drawn to science classes at school and studied Chemistry at the University of York, before joining LGC.

What do you most enjoy about your role?
I enjoy the variety of my work at LGC. We test such a range of samples, from inhalers to medicine bottles. Each type of sample needs to be tested slightly differently and the results differ vastly between each study. I enjoy the challenge of the work, it makes every study interesting and keeps me excited about coming into work each day.

What do you most like about LGC?
The people I work with. There is such a helpful and supportive environment, which has allowed me to feel so settled in my first graduate job.

Best advice for new members of the team?
Take every opportunity you can to learn new things and further develop your skills. There are so many opportunities at LGC.
