NML response to ARIA announcement
The National Measurement Laboratory (NML), hosted at LGC, welcomes the UK government’s announcement of the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA), the new independent research body to fund high-risk, high-reward scientific research.
Julian Braybrook, Director of Measurement Science and Partnerships, and Government Chemist said: “We are pleased to see the government’s ongoing commitment to investing in research and innovation. It is crucial that reliable data underpin new discoveries and disruptive technologies. As such, ARIA should be well-connected to the existing UK ecosystem, allowing the scientists and inventors to benefit from the current infrastructure and expertise within the national laboratories. At the National Measurement Laboratory we look forward to working with ARIA, particularly in helping to support pioneering R&D in the life sciences.”
