NML awarded ISO17025 accreditation for digital PCR-based quantification of DNA

We are delighted to announce that the UK National Measurement Laboratory (NML) at LGC has been awarded ISO17025 accreditation for the quantification of DNA using digital PCR by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Advances in genomic and informational technology coupled to advanced measurement at the cellular and molecular level are transforming our understanding of biology. This is driving innovation across many sectors, including healthcare, security, environment, biotechnology and food, and supporting applications from cancer diagnostics to identifying the presence of GMOs in foods.

LGC’s digital PCR measurement facility provides independent and authoritative quantitative measurements of DNA. Such measurements are used to assist the development and validation of new assays and technologies to support the characterisation of biological reference materials and to evidence regulatory compliance.

Alison Woolford, Team Leader, said, “We are proud to be one of the few laboratories worldwide to have gained ISO17025 accreditation using digital PCR for quantification of extracted DNA. The accreditation provides independent evidence of LGC’s expertise and world-leading capabilities to accurately measure DNA for our customers across the diagnostics, therapeutics, AgBio and food sectors.”
