LGC scientist invited on to International Metagenomics and Microbiome Standards Alliance steering committee

Denise O’Sullivan, Senior Researcher in the Molecular and Cell Biology Team, Health Science & Innovation, has been invited to become a member of the Steering Committee for the International Metagenomics and Microbiome Standards Alliance (IMMSA).

IMMSA is an association of microbiome-focused researchers from industry, academia, and government that contains representative experts across all major microbiological ecosystems (e.g. human, animal, environmental) and from a wide variety of scientific disciplines.

IMMSA focuses specifically on coordinating cross-cutting efforts that address microbiome and metagenomics measurement challenges, such as the coordination of inter-laboratory studies to understand measurement uncertainty. IMMSA is hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA.

Denise’s invitation on to this committee recognises her expertise and LGC’s reputation in this field.
