LGC recognised by The Sunday Times in latest Top Track 250 list of Britain's leading mid-market private companies.

14 Oct 2013

LGC is delighted to have been recognised by The Sunday Times in the latest Top Track 250 list of Britain's leading mid-market private companies.

The ninth annual Top Track 250 league table supplement was published in The Sunday Times on 13 October 2013, with title sponsor Grant Thornton.
Simon Parsons, Chief Financial Officer at LGC, said, “The Sunday Times Top Track 250 ranks Britain's leading mid-market private companies and we are delighted to be included on this prestigious list. This recognition would not be achieved without the customer focus and hard work of our employees, deploying the great scientific know-how that sits at the heart of LGC.”

Top Track 250 ranks the 250 next biggest private companies, provided either sales or operating profits have increased by at least 10% in their latest available accounts. Sales range from £130m to £650m.

This year’s list recognises that, despite the tough economy, two thirds of the companies on the league table improved their operating profit margin in their latest year, and 93% increased their sales to a combined £68 billion, equivalent to 5% of GDP. Staff numbers are up 36,000 from the previous year to 410,000, representing 1.4% of the UK workforce.
