UK Deputy Government Chemist to address food safety workshop

LGC hosts food safety workshop at 2011 Food Safety & Authenticity conference

LGC, the international science-based company which focuses on issues that affect human and animal health, safety and security, will host a post conference workshop at the 2011 Food Safety & Authenticity conference in Brussels, Belgium. Selvarani Elahi, the UK’s Deputy Government Chemist and Head of Consumer Protection Services at LGC, will address the workshop with a presentation on the subject of “Optimisation of test procedures”.

The workshop will also address a number of other key aspects of food safety and authenticity through keynote presentations:

  • The control of allergens in food production by Dr Anton Alldrick, Campden-BRI
  • LC-MS-MS measurement of lipophilic shellfish toxins, by John Points, LGC
  • How proficiency testing can improve production of animal feeds, by Dr Matthew Whetton, LGC.
