Our previous corporate charities

2021 - 2023: Coalition for Rainforest Nations

For a two year period we supported the Coalition for Rainforest Nations (CfRN), who work with countries and communities around the world, helping them to preserve their tropical rainforests. Through our colleagues’ fundraising activities and corporate donations, we are delighted to have raised over $94,000. Our highest amount raised for a corporate charity to date.

2019-2021: WaterAid

We were delighted to support WaterAid as our corporate charity in 2019-2021. The total amount raised £29,084.81. Our money will help deliver crucial hygiene messages we must all follow to keep each other safe from coronavirus, and to provide lasting access to water, sanitation and hygiene essentials, so people can defend against and build resilience to COVID-19 and other contagious diseases.

2018-2019: Prostate Cancer UK

We were delighted to support Prostate Cancer UK as our corporate charity in 2018-2019. The total amount raised across LGC was £37,054.61. Our money has been put towards research into Prostate cancer, raising awareness and support services for men and their families living with the disease.

2017-2018: The Multiple Sclerosis Society ​

We were delighted to support The Multiple Sclerosis Society as our corporate charity in 2017-2018. The total amount raised across LGC was £24,783.96. Our money has been put towards their Stop MS Appeal - a campaign to raise £100 million for MS Research by 2024 and revolutionise treatments for everyone with MS, including those with progressive MS.

2016-2017: The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA)

We were delighted to support MNDA as our corporate charity in 2016-2017. The total amount raised across LGC was £40,430.73, which helped fund a particular MND Association research project. Project MinE is a pioneering international research project investigating the genetic causes of MND.

2015-2016: Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research)

We were delighted to support Bloodwise as our corporate charity in 2015-2016. We raised a total of £39,197.02. The funds raised by our employees are used to support a project looking at how DNA sequencing can be used to personalise treatments in non-Hodgkin lymphomas.

2014-2015: Parkinson’s

We were delighted to support Parkinson’s charity as our corporate charity during 2014-15. We raised a total of £30,323.79 which went towards an ambitious five year project, ‘Tracking Parkinson’s’, the world’s largest ever in-depth study of people with Parkinson’s, which aims to speed up the search for a cure. 

2012-2013: Arthritis UK

We were delighted to support Arthritis Research UK during 2012-2013 and raised £34,339.65. LGC's fundraising in 2012/13 has gone towards the Arthritis Research UK centre for Adolescent Rheumatology.

2013-2014: Stroke Association

We were delighted to support the Stroke Association as our corporate charity during 2013-14. We raised a record amount of £35,806.22 helped fund a particular Stroke Association research project, looking at ‘A UK-wide clinical and genetic cohort study of aneurismal, subarachnoid haemorrhage’. 

2011-2012: Muscular Dystrophy Campaign

LGC was delighted to support the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign during 2011-2012. LGC raised £22,387.63 for the charity. As a result of LGC’s fundraising efforts, we were announced as the winner of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign ‘Corporate Partner of the Year Award’.

2010-2011: UNICEF

In 2010 and 2011 LGC supported UNICEF, specifically their 'Unite' campaign. LGC raised £22,370.63. This money helped to support UNICEF's services for the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV, which included interventions such as the HIV 'Mother and baby' pack.

Since 2002 LGC has supported a number of other charities including Cancer Research UK, Médecins Sans Frontières, Anthony Nolan Trust, WaterAid, SANE, the Alzheimer’s Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
