Medical review officer provision

LGC interprets the results for you, builds a picture of the circumstances under which the drug abuse took place, and assesses the implications in terms of employment law, health and safety legislation and opportunities for employee counselling and rehabilitation.

Independent medical review

In addition, we offer an independent medical review service providing impartial and confidential review of positive results by qualified medical practitioners.
The role of the medical review officer is to review and interpret laboratory results obtained through a drug and alcohol testing programme in conjunction with the individual’s medical history and any other relevant information, such as dietary intake.
The medical review officer process protects both the individual and the organisation from the risk of wrongful accusations which may occur when legitimate medications have been used and which can result in both distress for the individual and adverse publicity for the organisation.
