National Reference Laboratory (NRL)
LGC serves as the UK National Reference Laboratory in a range of
key areas:
- Added water in poultry
- Genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
- Feed additives and heavy metals in animal feeds
- Heavy metals in products of animal origin
- Pesticides in products of animal origin
- Veterinary residues in products of animal origin.
As the NRL in these areas, LGC is required to
deliver a number of functions and fulfil requirements as detailed
in EC regulation 882/2004 .
