LGC provides a range of measurement products and services which underpin the safety, health and security of the public, including reference materials and proficiency testing, genomics reagents and instrumentation, and expert sample analysis and interpretation. Our customers are across a number of end markets including Pharmaceuticals, Agricultural Biotechnology, Food, Environment, Government and Academia.

Job purpose:
The Product Manager (PM) role recognizes the importance of a product proposition that is aligned to customer needs in a dynamic and competitive marketplace. Combining product and technical knowledge, with market insight, the PM will develop and support the development and execution of product strategy and tactics for the North American market through understanding the pharmaceutical standards market.  With a strong understanding of both regulatory and technical drivers in the market, the PM’s expertise will enable to achieve short and long term profitable growth objectives of the product range working in collaboration with the North American sales team and the global pharmaceutical team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Own a defined portfolio of products administratively, technically and commercially and deliver annual sales, profit and market share growth per the company’s objectives
  • Develop and maintain the relevant technical and regulatory knowledge required to allow the PM to engage with customers at all technical levels within customer organisations both directly and remotely
  • Collate and analyze data from a number of sources (including financial) to deliver insight into the performance of the product range
  • Gather information and keen understanding of the customers’ existing, latent and emerging needs as well as competitors’ strengths, weaknesses and tactics to evaluate gaps in the company’s service and products and optimal product pricing
  • Support strategic planning decisions by providing insight and understanding of customer needs across different customer organizations
  • Support sales through technical and commercial product portfolio training to help drive forward the  expansion of the business into defined areas 
  • Write technical information useful to customers for social media
  • Work with the marketing communication team to deliver highly engaging marketing collateral
  • Work in collaboration with finance, sales and local markets to support delivery of a pricing architecture that is aligned to sector objectives based on market and competitor analysis and which creates a value proposition which positions LGC as the best value provider
  • Exemplify the LGC core values on a daily basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
